About Us

EUK is a young and dynamic language school situated in the heart of Ostrava, only a short walk from the city's main shopping centre. We opened in 2002 and have been providing English language services for the local and wider community ever since. We offer a wide range of morning, afternoon and evening courses, including General English Courses, Business English Courses, and English for Cambridge examinations. We are a small, professional organisation and over the years have built up a reputation for excellent standards of teaching and translating work.

Employment - Native English teachers

Essential: RSA CELTA or Trinity Cert. Tesol (or recognised equivalent), or post-graduate teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE or Bed). In exceptional circumstances we will also consider applications from teachers who do not hold one of these qualifications, but who have substantial EFL teaching experience. Additionally, enthusiasm and a patient, pleasant approach to teaching is a must have.

Course Information

Courses open in October and January. Czech teachers teach Beginner, Elementary, Pre-Intermediate and lower certificate courses. Native teachers teach Intermediate, Upper-Intermediate, higher certificate courses and business English. There is a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 6 students in each class. Each teacher is responsible for his or her own class. No lessons are shared.

Summer Course Information

Summer courses begin in July and run for 8 weeks. Lessons are based on the English Summer School structure - Lessons 1 + 2 are grammar orientated, Lessons 3 + 4 are activity based. Teachers will need to strike a balance between holiday fun and the genuine learning process.
